Webster, affectionately coined the town “where life is worth living”, is located northeast of the city of Rochester and is 35 square miles. Webster is bordered on the north by Lake Ontario, on the east by Wayne County, and on the west by Irondequoit Bay. Webster is known for its sports programs and in 2005 was awarded the title of “Number 1 Sportstown in New York” by Sports Illustrated. Schroeder High School has won three NYS football championships and at one point had a 31-game winning streak. At one time, the football team was ranked #21 in the nation. Hockey, soccer, and lacrosse have also had notable victories and secured championships over the years.

Lou Gramm, the beloved lead singer of the Rock Band Foreigner, was born and raised in Webster and continues to live there today. Lake Ontario is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. The lake is the smallest of the Great Lakes at 7,340 square miles and is the 13th largest lake in the world. Waterfront real estate in Webster is some of the finest in the region with a wide variety of architectural designs. The endless lake views remind many of the Atlantic Ocean, as the lake has many similar wave characteristics. Lakefront residents dock their boats at local marinas as the lake is too rough for residential docks. There are three yacht clubs in the area with world-class sailing and motor boating opportunities. Irondequoit Bay has many waterfront dining opportunities and is a popular destination spot for residents in the region.
